Illume

It is a 3D printable prosthetic hand. All parts were designed to be put together in two piece assemblies. Only one part would need to be attached at a time during assembly. This avoided complex processes requiring two hands. A four-bar linkage was used as a finger joint coupling mechanism to produce consistent movement and greater force at the fingertip than a purely tendon-based design.

Elle is a combination of a prosthetic leg and a swimwear that is designed to optimize amputee’s swimming experience by achieving balance, maximizing energy return from launch off and flip-turns, and supporting the body through the latest technology. Elle is geared to assist single-leg amputees to compete with able-bodied swimmers. Currently, elle is the only prosthetic that address the needs in swimming specifically.

The client strongly wanted the first product on the market that is not designed as a 'gun' but more as a beauty care product. It has been thought for the Chinese market which has specific needs and tradition in terms of design for medical devices.
